Meet The Squad

EncourageSo what is Encourage Squad? Well let’s just say in the last six years I (Maggie) have met some pretty amazing people who possess a LOT of wisdom. I feel very lucky to be planted amongst them, as this gives me a front row seat to grow personally and spiritually. It  wouldn’t be fair for me to keep their nuggets of wisdom to myself! They have become my ‘squad,’ and in time, I hope they will become familiar friends to you through this site. Their stories are individually unique, but the one thing my squad has in common is that they are willing to offer their stories, wisdom, vulnerability, advice, and they do so out of love. My squad is made up of friends, spiritual mentors, leaders, entrepreneurs, nutritionists, and counselors.

So if you are looking for a community to be apart of and need some encouragement in your life, then I am so happy you are here and hope to provide both. The overall goal of this site is to encourage women right where they are, in a real way, spark friendship, and point women to a loving God.

I hope you will follow along and I hope that you will always leave a little more inspired than when you came. Welcome to my squad!

View More: Rickert is a former California wild child, wife to Ryan, and mom of two sweet boys, Berron and Bradford. Maggie enjoys living in Montana and experiencing the outdoors as much as possible. Although at one point she loved navigating life on her own, she eventually wore out and surrendered her heart to Jesus.

For the last six years, Maggie has been on an exciting journey of discovering who God says she is in the midst of her culture, marriage, and mothering. Prior to becoming a mom, Maggie was a full-time hair stylist where she first discovered her love for listening to and encouraging women. This passion inspired her to start a local recurring event called Words for Wives to encourage women in their marriages. Maggie’s greatest desires are to serve her family well and to point people towards a loving God.

Leslie is a another Californian-turned-Montanan, having moved three years ago. She and her husband of nearly two decades moved with their daughter and son and found a different (and much colder) way of life. She is a blogger, writer, and speaker on faith and the things with which women struggle most. Control, shame, and fear are just a few issues with which she has wrestled. And therefore, freedom, grace and the intimate love of Jesus are themes to which she returns again and again.

She moved to Montana in 1998 to work for a non-profit organization called Youth With A Mission (YWAM), which allowed her to travel and share God’s story in over 35 different countries. She moved to Bozeman MT, after living in South Africa in 2009, with her husband Paul and their children, Capri and Emmett. She enjoys travel, people, coffee and exploring the great outdoors. She loves sharing who God is with others, teaching, hearing God’s voice and discovering how to live life in abundance within community. Her passion is to pour into and empower women to walk in their God-given identities and His purposes.

Lindsey HeinemannLindsey is a Christian Life Coach, speaker, writer, and musician. She lives with her husband Josh and their three sons in the East Bay Area of Northern California.  Lindsey survives off a steady diet of coffee and gluten-free peanut butter cookies.  Her heart is for helping women discover their God-given purpose, and to help them live in that purpose everyday!

KristenschelvanKristen Schelvan is a native Montana girl and has been married to her best friend for almost twelve years. Her superhero skill of sleeping on command (really, she can fall asleep anywhere) comes in handy as she is mama to three sweet and spunky little girls. With a background in architecture, she loves design, decorating, and house-hunting. As her girls were born, her hobbies quickly changed to cleaning, baking, organizing and making (dinner). Kristen loves hiking with her husband and you’ll often find them coaxing or carrying little people up a small mountain. She has a deep passion for God’s Word – especially equipping women to learn how to study scripture for themselves, and has a desire to see young women mentored and discipled.

Michele Oakland is a daughter of the king, mom of a german shepherd named Bo, and wife to her husband Jon, for 31 years. Michele is a seasoned encourager, mentor, and friend to many women.
