Book Squad: Boundaries Book Discussion Week 3

Genesis 2:24 – That is why a man leaves his father and mother and is united to his wife, and they become one flesh.

Holy guacamole, chips, and salsa! We’re on week 3 already!

This week’s video covers chapters 7-10. These were easily the weightiest chapters for me. I came to this book to learn how to heal the relationship with my parents, and make a safe space for my boys to be in relationship with them. While I’ve forgiven them long ago, there’s still a great deal of pain, as there so often is after decades of unhealthy relationship patterns. As only He does, God used this book to do much more than I expected; He didn’t just confirm that I am doing the right thing, He also turned a large portion of my pain into empathy. I had empathy before, but where it was a head understanding, I now have a heart that’s softened to their pain. My prayer for each of you is that He’ll have a revelation for you too as we continue on this journey of healing!

In Christ,
Lindsey

Questions to think about as we read through chapters 11-13 for next week:

– Have you owned your part of the boundary issues you experience at work, or are you stuck in the blame game?
– What boundaries do you need to do a better job on with yourself? How would your life change if you were to ask God to help you with that?
– How have you violated God’s boundaries? What lessons have you learned from Him telling you ‘no’?
